Background - Warehouse Logistics Requirements of a Metal Products Manufacturer
The customer is a large manufacturer specializing in metal products and plays the role of a global leader in the industry.
With high attention to the aesthetic design and tidy arrangement, there should be no compromise for the customer in maintaining the overall style of the factory in every detail.
With metal products as its core business, the customer has to handle materials that are characterized by a larger weight per pallet on a daily basis.
Due to surge of orders, it is more essential to ensure the transportation and storage of materials in an efficient and safe manner.
As conventional loading docks cannot meet the customer's needs, SOUTHWORTH team has specially developed this customized hydraulic loading dock lift according to the flow route of materials and finished products.
The loading dock lift is installed in a pit located between the warehouse and truck parking area.
When goods need to be unloaded, the forklift is driven onto the loading dock lift, which then is raised flush with the truck back to allow the forklift to enter into the compartment and carry goods out.
When the dock lift is lowered, the forklift can transport goods down to the floor.
The loading operation is completed in reverse order.
When no goods are to be loaded or unloaded, the loading dock lift is lowered to the floor level, without affecting the normal flow of materials on the floor.
The loading dock lift is not only equipped with side rails to prevent forklift from falling off, but also designed with electric flaps on the sides which are accessible to the truck in order to realize 'seamless connection' between two devices.
Reversing locators are mounted on the floor to prevent truck from collision with the loading dock lift.
